Woke up today and it was snowing outside! It is the end of April here in northern Minnesota and the snow is still coming!
Winter here in Minnesota can go on and on, sometimes it feels like it will never end.
I have gone fishing on opening weekend many times in my life, which is always around the middle of May, and have woke up to snow, or ice storms.
I have lived here all of my life, and still question sometimes why I do not move south.
But then all of sudden summer hits, and our weather is absolutely beautiful!
Not to mention, we are the land of ten thousand lakes. Which almost all of our lakes you can swim in and catch lots of fish. Very clean lakes here in northern Minnesota.
We go through this cycle every year, long winters and short summers, but the summers are so nice, that you forget about the long Minnesota winters.
If you love the outdoors, we have many other benefits like, no poisonous snakes or spiders, we do not have earthquakes, nor do we see tornadoes this far north, and we have great fishing and hunting.
Sometimes it seems like a paradise here, and sometimes it can get kind of depressing..Depending on the season, as we have set records here for number of days the sun did not shine in the winter.
So if you live here in northern Minnesota, you have to make sure and take your double dose of vitamin d, the happy vitamin!
Got to keep the blues away my friends.
When the sun is shining I head outside to barbecue and throw back a few beers with my friends and family!
